Ohio Woman Faces Lawsuit After Posting False Claims About Industrial Equipment Manufacturer
An Ohio-based industrial equipment manufacturer, Starr Manufacturing, has taken legal action against a Columbus woman for allegedly posting false and malicious claims about the company on Google. In a lawsuit filed in the Trumbull County Court of Common Pleas on August 12, Starr asserts that the woman's one-star review caused significant reputational harm to its business.
The complaint states that the woman falsely claimed that Starr Manufacturing had quality and manufacturing failures with multiple customers, and even offered to provide names and addresses of additional people who could confirm these issues. However, according to the company, she has never been a customer of Starr Manufacturing.
According to Thomas Nader, the company's attorney, this was not about a bad review from a customer, but rather a personal vendetta between the woman and a company employee.
