Oklahoma Resident George Allan Harris Passes Away at 71
George Allan Harris, a 71-year-old resident of Blackgum, Oklahoma, passed away on August 29, 2026. Born in Oklahoma City to Jean Louise (Thurston) Harris and George William Harris, he graduated from John Marshall High School in 1972 and later attended Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee.
Harris began his career in retail sales with C.R. Anthony's in Edmond, Oklahoma, before moving on to TG&Y (McCrory Stores) where he held various management positions. In 1988, he joined Pratt & Lambert Paint and later Sherwin-Williams, earning numerous sales awards.
In 1996, Harris pursued his dream of living near a lake and began working in real estate. He eventually established his own business, TenkillerProperty.com, which still serves the area today. Harris was deeply committed to his community, serving as Chairperson at Cookson Hills Methodist Church and Vice Chair of the Blackgum Mountain Volunteer Fire Department.
