OpenAI Partners with Rivals on AI Safety Amid Growing Industry Concerns

OpenAI is taking steps to address safety concerns surrounding artificial intelligence with its top competitors Anthropic PBC and Google DeepMind.

The company's global policy chief, Chris Lehane, confirmed that OpenAI has been working on this issue for several weeks.

Lehane stated that the collaboration between OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google does not require an antitrust waiver for them to coordinate on safety matters.

This effort comes as the industry grapples with concerns that AI poses an economic and security threat.
