Oswald Live-Action Series to Premiere on Disney+ in 2027

Disney+ has announced that Jon Favreau's upcoming live-action animated hybrid series, Oswald, will premiere on February 17, 2027. The show consists of just three episodes and marks a comeback for the legendary cartoon character created by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks in the 1920s.

The show follows a middle school boy and his friends as they try to help Oswald navigate the modern world after an earthquake releases him from hiding.

Favreau directed The Jungle Book, The Lion King, and The Mandalorian, and is now bringing Oswald's story to life with a star-studded cast that includes Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Ryder Allen, Al Madrigal, Kathryn Hahn, and Albert Brooks.
