P&G Acquires Health Supplement Maker Thorne for Expanded Impact
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Thorne, a health and wellness supplement company founded in 1984. The acquisition is expected to help P&G expand its impact in the personal health care business.
Thorne produces nutritional supplements and wellness technology tools for consumers, athletes, and healthcare professionals, with a manufacturing facility in South Carolina and serving over seven million customers.
'As we looked to the future, we kept coming back to one question: What will best position Thorne to continue fulfilling its mission?' said Colin Watts, CEO of Thorne. 'We believe P&G is the right partner to help us expand our impact while staying true to the values and standards that have always defined Thorne.'
P&G's acquisition of Thorne from L Catterton's Flagship Fund is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, with the transaction expected to close later this year.
