P&G Acquires Supplement Maker Thorne for $3.6 Billion
Cincinnati-based consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) is expanding its portfolio with a major acquisition. The company has agreed to buy Thorne, a supplement maker valued at $3.6 billion in cash.
The deal will see P&G take control of Thorne from global investment firm L Catterton, which purchased the business for $680 million in 2023. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of this year.
Thorne was founded in 1984 and specializes in high-quality supplements and personalized health solutions backed by healthcare practitioners. P&G sees an opportunity to expand its line of healthcare products, which it believes are a growing market.
