P&G Acquires Supplements Maker Thorne for $3.8 Billion
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has agreed to acquire supplements maker Thorne for $3.8 billion, according to CEO Shailesh Jejurikar's statement to CNBC.
The acquisition marks a major push by P&G into the health and wellness market, aligning with growing demand for self-care products fueled by preventive care and weight-loss drugs.
P&G currently owns supplements brands including Metamucil and Align Probiotic. The company's beauty and wellness division has seen strong results due to consumers' willingness to spend on discretionary self-care products.
