P&G Acquires Thorne for $3.8 Billion in Beauty and Wellness Expansion
Procter & Gamble Co. has reached an agreement to acquire Thorne, a supplement maker valued at $3.8 billion. The deal will be announced later today.
The acquisition is part of P&G's strategy to expand its beauty and wellness business through acquisitions. CEO Shailesh Jejurikar disclosed the pending transaction during a Tuesday appearance on CNBC.
Thorne has been a subject of acquisition speculation for several months, with UK-based companies Haleon Plc and Unilever Plc reportedly interested in acquiring the company. Thorne was taken private in 2023 by L Catterton, an investment firm backed by luxury goods maker LVMH.
According to CNBC, Thorne is on track to reach $650 million in total sales in 2026, up from its current valuation of $680 million when it was taken private. P&G's acquisition will bring Thorne's products under the umbrella of one of the world's largest consumer goods companies.
