P&G Buys Supplements Brand Thorne for $3.8 Billion
Procter & Gamble (P&G) has agreed to acquire Thorne, a supplements brand, for $3.8 billion. The acquisition is set to be announced on Tuesday, with P&G's CEO Shailesh Jejurikar stating that the company is 'really happy' with the asset itself.
Thorne was founded in 1984 and went public in late 2021 at a valuation of $525 million. The company was taken private by L Catterton in 2023 for $680 million, before reportedly surpassing $500 million in annual revenue in 2025.
The majority of Thorne's revenue comes from shoppers under the age of 40, with a surge in direct-to-consumer sales. According to Thorne CEO Colin Watts, the company has the potential to become a billion-dollar brand within the next few years.
