P&G Buys Supplements Firm Thorne for $3.8 Billion
Procter & Gamble has made a major move in the health and wellness sector by acquiring Thorne, a leading supplements company, for $3.8 billion in cash.
The acquisition is part of P&G's strategy to strengthen its healthcare offering as consumer interest in self-care, prevention, and personalized wellness continues to grow.
Thorne has been operating since 1984 and has built a reputation for clinical-based products and personalized healthcare. L Catterton invested in the business in October 2023, helping propel Thorne's growth through investments in research and development, infrastructure, and recruitment drives.
P&G Health Care CEO Paul Gama said the acquisition will help expand P&G's position in premium wellness with a trusted science-backed brand that complements its existing portfolio. Colin Watts, CEO of Thorne, expressed gratitude for L Catterton's support and praised P&G as the right partner to help Thorne continue fulfilling its mission.
