P&G Buys Supplements Maker Thorne for $3.8 Billion
Procter & Gamble (P&G) is acquiring supplements maker Thorne for $3.8 billion, according to CEO Shailesh Jejurikar.
The acquisition aligns with P&G's strategy to strengthen its health and beauty businesses, which include brands like Metamucil, Vicks, and New Chapter.
Thorne was taken private by private equity firm L Catterton in a $680 million deal in 2023 after going public in 2021.
P&G's healthcare division generated $12.5 billion in sales last fiscal year, with Thorne expected to reach $650 million in sales this year, up from its previous forecast of $290 million in 2023.
