P&G Buys Thorne for $3.8 Billion in Supplement Market Expansion
Consumer product giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) has acquired supplement maker Thorne for $3.8 billion, expanding its presence in the health and wellness space.
The deal marks a significant entry into the premium supplement market, where demand is driven by consumers seeking quality products with direct-to-consumer subscription revenue reaching $500 million in 2025.
Thorne's science-driven supplements will bolster P&G's existing health division, which includes brands such as Metamucil and Align probiotics, as well as the clean antacid brand Wonderbelly.
P&G plans to leverage its acquisitions to pursue self-care, preventative health, and wellness initiatives, reflecting a broader trend in consumer behavior towards daily performance and functional nutrition.
