Procter & Gamble CEO Shailesh Jejurikar's compensation nearly doubled to $17.9 million after his promotion in January, according to a government filing.

This marks a significant increase from his previous year's pay of $9.2 million as chief operating officer.

The median P&G worker's pay, however, dropped by 13.7% to $68,600 amid the company's restructuring efforts.

P&G has cut 5,000 jobs as part of its plan to reduce its workforce and focus on innovative new products.
