P&G Veteran Bernard 'Bernie' Wehrmeyer Passes Away at 84
Bernard 'Bernie' Martin Wehrmeyer, a proud Northern Kentucky native, passed away on September 1, 2026, at the age of 84. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and then began a long career with Procter & Gamble, where he worked for over 30 years.
During his time at Procter & Gamble, Bernie was awarded a patent for an absorbent pad structure designed primarily for disposable diapers. This unique accomplishment showcased his creativity and ingenuity.
Bernie's passions extended beyond his career. He loved golf, cheering for the Cincinnati Reds and University of Kentucky basketball, spending time with the ROMEOs, and talking - he had a gift for gab that could turn even the briefest encounter into a longer conversation.
His commitment to serving his community was also evident in his years on the Park Hills City Council and as a dedicated member of Alcoholics Anonymous. He found fellowship, purpose, and an opportunity to help others through this organization.
