Passenger Flushes iPhone Down Plane Toilet Amid Cross-Country Flight
A passenger on Delta Air Lines Flight 777 from Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) reportedly flushed an iPhone down the toilet mid-air.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, August 28, as the Boeing 757-200 was in flight. Fortunately, the plane's recirculating waste system deposited the smartphone into a septic tank in the belly hold, preventing any potential damage or risk to bystanders on the ground.
The toilet's flush motor and internal mechanisms remained functional throughout the incident, and the bathroom did not overflow or fail during the flight. Once on the ground, ground crews and maintenance teams successfully drained the waste system to locate the phone.
