Penn Badgley to Star in Amazon MGM Series 'Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone'

Amazon MGM Studios has greenlit 'Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone', a darkly comedic murder mystery series based on Benjamin Stevenson's bestselling book series. Penn Badgley will star, reprising his role after wrapping up a starring turn as Joe Goldberg in the hit thriller series 'You'.

The series follows Ern Cunningham (Badgley), a mystery-writing expert who attends a family reunion to welcome his brother Michael home from prison - where Ern helped convict him. When a frozen body appears and a snowstorm traps everyone inside, the deaths begin to mount.

Author Benjamin Stevenson expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating 'I am blown away by the vision and enthusiasm everyone has for bringing this book, and Ernest Cunningham, to the screen.' He praised Penn Badgley's performance as capturing Ern's 'clueyness and cleverness', while showrunner David Hemingson brought 'wit and heart' to the script.

Amazon MGM's Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, added that the series is a 'brilliantly inventive' subversion of the murder mystery genre. The project marks a reunion for Amazon MGM with Fifth Season and Made Up Stories, who previously collaborated on various series including 'The Good Daughter' and 'Wolf Like Me'.
