People Inc. Shifts Focus to Brand-Led Business Model Amid Revenue Growth
People Inc., formerly part of IAC Holding Company, has undergone a significant transformation in its business strategy. At the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference 2026, CEO Neil Vogel emphasized the company's shift from relying on search-driven publishing to a more diversified brand-led approach.
The company reported 11 consecutive quarters of revenue growth despite changing traffic patterns, with its reliance on Google decreasing from over 70% five years ago to just 20% today. More than 40% of People Inc.'s business is now non-sessions-based, growing at a rate of 15-20% per quarter.
The company has implemented AI tools to improve productivity and content quality, producing 50% more content at the same cost as two years ago. Vogel highlighted the importance of trusted brands in a market dominated by lower-quality AI-generated material.
People Inc. is focusing on expanding revenue streams beyond traditional web advertising, with growth expected in subscriptions, events, licensing, video, and product partnerships. The company has acquired Feedfeed, a food influencer network, and Hot Luck, a Gen Z barbecue event, and is launching 47 episodic shows across platforms.
The company's D/Cipher adtech platform uses contextual and first-party data to target audiences without identifying individuals, offering strong opportunities in specific verticals such as health and pharma. Vogel emphasized the importance of financial discipline, with People Inc. maintaining a current ratio of 3.69 and aggressively buying back shares.
