Perspective Therapeutics Partners with Merck on Clinical Trial Collaboration
Perspective Therapeutics has announced a clinical trial collaboration agreement with Merck to evaluate its targeted alpha-particle therapy, PSV359, in combination with Keytruda (pembrolizumab) for advanced FAP-α-positive solid tumors.
The study will combine Perspective's radiopharmaceutical treatment with Merck's immune checkpoint inhibitor, and is expected to evaluate whether this approach can improve treatment outcomes for patients with these types of cancers.
Fibroblast activation protein alpha (FAP-α) is a protein expressed on the surface of cancer-associated fibroblasts in the majority of epithelial cancers. Higher FAP-α expression has been associated with poor prognosis in various solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer and colorectal cancer.
PSV359 targets and delivers 212Pb to tumor sites expressing FAP-α, providing a potential treatment option for patients in need of additional therapy. The study's primary objective is to assess the safety and tolerability of various doses of PSV359 and determine the recommended Phase 2 dose.
