The Pierre City Commission has approved an extension of their agreement with Missouri River Energy Services (MRES).
City Administrator Kristi Honeywell stated that the town receives approximately 40% of its electricity from MRES, and that the agreement provides for more than just electric power.
The updated deal extends Pierre's contract with MRES by an additional 40 years.
