Pinterest Accelerates Visual Search with Nvidia-Powered AI Infrastructure
Pinterest has built a new multimodal artificial intelligence infrastructure in collaboration with Nvidia. This infrastructure will support visual search, content understanding, and safety systems across Pinterest's platform.
According to benchmark testing, the new infrastructure delivered 85 times faster response startup and 7.3 times faster overall latency by using precomputed visual representations instead of repeatedly processing raw images.
Pinterest's new multimodal AI infrastructure combines the company's own visual embeddings with Nvidia's accelerated computing platform, which includes Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Nvidia Dynamo.
This combination enables Pinterest to turn more than 80 billion monthly searches into high-value signals for AI-powered discovery and shopping. As a result, Pinterest Assistant can run 25 times more visual context per request.
