Pitt Volleyball Sweeps Tennessee with Early Advantage
The #2 Pitt volleyball team dominated #17 Tennessee in a sweep at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex at Walt Disney World. The Panthers won the match 25-17, 28-26, 25-20.
Izzy Starck delivered seven strong serves to give Pitt a 7-0 lead and set the tone for the game. Tennessee eventually caught up but Pitt's early advantage proved crucial.
Pitt's middle blockers, Abbey Emch and Maaike Heilig, were particularly effective in the match. Emch notched a career-high 10 kills on 14 swings with a .643 hitting percentage.
