Pixel 11 Teasers Revealed as Solar Eclipse Tribute
Google has been teasing its upcoming Pixel 11 series of phones for weeks ahead of the Made by Google event in New York. The teasers have shown a shiny gold frame and camera bar surround, while keeping the rest of the phone hidden in black.
This mystery was blown away by leaks that almost certainly confirm the new Dune or Canyon hero colorway of the Pro models. However, it wasn't until a reader suggested that the design resembles a solar eclipse that the connection became clear.
It turns out that there is indeed a solar eclipse on August 12, the same day as the Made by Google event. This natural phenomenon seems to be the reason behind Google's teaser campaign.
While it's unclear what exactly Google is trying to say with this reference, the firm has recently given a clearer look at two new color options: bright orange and green (thought to be called Pine or Olive). These colors will be available across all Pro models, including the 11 Pro Fold.
