Pixel 12 Pro Fold May Copy iPhone Ultra Tech for Almost Crease-Free Display
Google's upcoming Pixel 12 Pro Fold may adopt a technology similar to Apple's iPhone Ultra, which uses a dual ultra-thin glass (UTG) structure for its inner screen. This approach reduces display creases and deformation caused by repeated folds.
The UTG structure consists of two layers: one below the OLED panel and another above it as a 'cover window'. This setup purportedly helps reduce display creases and enables more precise control over the panel's rigidity and fold-related stress.
OPPO and vivo are also reportedly adopting this technology for their next-generation foldable phones. While the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has a reduced display crease compared to previous models, it still develops a prominent crease with repeated use.
