Pixel 12 Series Set to Shake Up Google's Design Language
Google's Pixel series has been gaining popularity over the past few years due to its 'iPhone-like' design and software leanings. However, the company is expected to shake up the design with the upcoming Pixel 12 series.
The Pixel 11 marks three consecutive years of using the same design language started by the Pixel 9 series. With a history of introducing experimental features in each new model, fans are eagerly waiting to see what Google has in store for the Pixel 12. A potential RAM upgrade is rumored, with the Tensor G7 processor possibly featuring LPDDR6, which could offer speeds of up to 14.4Gbps.
Additionally, there's speculation about a battery capacity upgrade using silicon-carbon batteries, following Samsung's implementation in their Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Ultra models. Google has historically stuck with a specific design language for 2-3 years at a time, so if history repeats itself, the Pixel 12 series could see a major redesign.
Industry insiders are also calling for Google to improve their PowerVR GPU, which is outdated in the current Pixel 11 model. A modern GPU supporting the latest Vulkan standards and delivering better gaming performance would be a welcome upgrade. Furthermore, fans are hoping for ergonomic design changes and improved flicker accessibility features.
