Pixel 7 and 8 Owners Get AirDrop Support for Quick Share After Months of Waiting

Quick Share's AirDrop support is now rolling out to older Pixel devices. Although it was initially available on many Android phones, Google didn't include it in the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 when they first launched. However, this has changed as users of these devices are starting to receive notifications that the feature is being added.

The rollout is happening in stages, with some users reporting that they're receiving these notifications while others claim that AirDrop sharing isn't working yet. This notification card, which appears on compatible devices, instructs users to ask the other person to set AirDrop to 'Everyone' for 10 minutes.

Google hasn't made any official announcements about this feature rollout, but it seems that some Pixel 8 and 7 owners are already experiencing issues with AirDrop sharing. The feature allows users to share a wide range of content, including contact information, images, videos, and documents, by tapping their phones together.

It's worth noting that some users have also received this notification on their Pixel Tablet, but it's unclear whether the feature was working on this device as well.
