Pixel Watch 5 Boasts Safer Band, Improved Hardware
Rita, a senior writer at Android Police, recently had her hands on the new Google Pixel Watch 5 and was impressed by its improvements over last year's model. Despite looking almost identical to the Pixel Watch 4, the new watch has some significant upgrades under the hood.
The biggest changes are in the hardware, with increased RAM from 2GB to 3GB, doubled storage from 32GB to 64GB, and an accelerated version of the Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor. Rita felt that everything on the Pixel Watch 5 was slightly snappier and more responsive than on her Pixel Watch 4 running Wear OS 7.
These upgrades allow Google to offer more smarts on the watch, particularly with the Gemini experience, which can now execute local actions offline, such as setting alarms or timers. However, Rita notes that she would have preferred a faster processor like the one used in the latest Samsung Galaxy watches.
