Pixel Watch 5: Google Unveils Advanced Health Features with AI-Powered Algorithm

Google's latest smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 5, has been equipped with advanced health features. One of its notable capabilities is Breathing Emergency Detection, which can detect a persistent drop in oxygen saturation and trigger an emergency call to services.

This feature uses a combination of data from sensors such as PPG, accelerometer, and barometer, along with an AI-based algorithm, to identify potential breathing emergencies. The algorithm is designed to detect unique signatures marking elevated levels of blood pressure, allowing for early intervention.

The new health features will be available in select markets in the European Union, but have not been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for launch in the US. Google plans to expand availability once regulatory clearance is obtained.
