Pixxel Secures $100 Million in Funding for Satellite Expansion
Indian space startup Pixxel has secured $100 million in Series C funding, marking the largest single investment by an Indian space technology company. The round was co-led by Temasek and Seraphim, with participation from existing investors Radical Ventures and growX Ventures, as well as new investors 360 ONE Asset and IMM Investment.
The funding brings Pixxel's total investment to $195 million, which will be used to scale up its satellite network and Earth intelligence business. The company plans to expand its sensing capacity via its Honeybee satellite constellation and high-resolution optical imaging satellites, as well as its Aurora software platform that combines satellite data for decision-ready insights.
Pixxel was founded by Awais Ahmed and has backing from Google. The company aims to develop planet-scale infrastructure connecting sensors, software, and satellite systems.
