Planet Fitness Coming to Southwest Ocala with New Facility
A new Planet Fitness gym is coming to southwest Ocala, just north of a Home Depot currently under construction. The proposed facility will be located on an 8.48-acre parcel directly behind Lowe's home improvement store off SW Highway 200.
The single-story gym and fitness center will span approximately 23,000 square feet and feature 101 parking spaces, dedicated utility infrastructure, landscaping buffers, and a stormwater conveyance system connecting to an existing dry retention pond. Potential tanning amenities are also planned for inside the building.
This new Planet Fitness adds to a surge of commercial development in the city's southwest corridor, with another Home Depot site nearby undergoing active construction. The facility will neighbor existing businesses including Pet Paradise and Tires Plus.
