PLDT Empowers Iloilo SMEs with Digital Tools
Over a hundred small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Iloilo City attended an event organized by PLDT Enterprise to introduce them to digital services and technology. The event, part of PLDT's SME Day series, aimed to help businesses improve their operations with connectivity, cybersecurity, and other digital tools.
Speakers from PLDT Enterprise, ePLDT, VITRO Inc., and Cisco Meraki discussed the benefits of 5G, reliable internet connections, data centers, cybersecurity, and applications that can support companies during disruptions. Atty. Fydah Marie Sabandoh Del Rosario, head of the Data Assessment and System Management Office of the Iloilo City Government, emphasized the importance of digital tools for local businesses.
While adopting digital technologies can be challenging for smaller businesses due to costs and complexity, PLDT Enterprise's vice president and head of Growth Marketing, Digital, and Trade, John Eric Alviz, encouraged entrepreneurs to view digital transformation as an opportunity for growth. 'I encourage every entrepreneur to see digital transformation not as a disruption, but as an opportunity: an opportunity to become more efficient, make better decisions, and build businesses that are stronger, more resilient, and ready for the future,' said Atty. Fritzie Gayle Diez-Treñas, director for finance, administration, and corporate affairs at JD Bakery Café.
