Pokémon Takes Center Stage on Disney+: New Stop-Motion Series Announced
Pokémon is making its way to Disney+ in a big way, and it's bringing some exciting new content with it. As part of a global distribution deal between The Pokémon Company International and Disney, a brand new stop-motion animated series called Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu is set to debut in 2027 on the streaming service.
The show, which is being produced by Aardman, the studio behind Wallace and Gromit and Shaun the Sheep, follows the adventures of Sirfetch'd and Pichu as they travel through the Galar Region. Their well-meaning but often chaotic escapades are sure to delight both old and new fans of the franchise.
In addition to the new series, Disney+ is also airing the original Pokémon the Series: The Beginning on its platform. This classic show has been a beloved part of many children's lives for years, and it's great to see it being made available to a whole new generation.
Ayo Davis, president of Disney Kids and Family, had this to say about the partnership: 'Pokémon has that rare ability to mean something to longtime fans while continuing to feel completely relevant to young audiences today.'
