Pontiac Resident Sharon 'Kay' Nugent Passes Away at 68
Sharon 'Kay' Nugent (nee Cornegilo), a veteran and devoted family member, passed away on September 2, 2026. She was 68 years old.
Nugent was born in Joliet, IL on September 13, 1957, to John A. and Cleo Marie (nee Leach) Cornegilo. She had been in a relationship with Robert Nugent since 1991 and they officially married on May 16, 2008.
Nugent worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in Pontiac, where she was involved in assembly since 1991. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church and the South Wilmington Beach and Fireman's Club.
Her family described her as someone who cherished time with loved ones and devoted herself to taking care of them. Nugent is survived by her husband, two daughters, step-son, step-daughter, nine grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other relatives.
