Princeton Alum, Decorated Veteran, Leaves Lasting Legacy
George Henry Webb Jr., a seasoned professional and entrepreneur, has passed away at the age of 94. Born on May 7, 1932, in Oradell, NJ, George grew up with a passion for adventure and service.
He attended Phillips Academy, Andover, where he excelled as an engineer-in-training before enrolling at Princeton University to major in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduating in 1954, George served his country in the US Navy Officer Candidate School, becoming an Ensign on the USS Soley (DD 707) and later a Deck Officer and Electronics Officer.
After his naval service, George joined Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, followed by Pfizer in Brooklyn, NY. He then formed Rainsford House, a men's residence in NYC, where he earned an MBA from NYU evening classes and was elected President of the House after his first year.
Throughout his illustrious career, George held various roles as engineer, consultant, recruiter, and president at Industrial Biochemicals and later founded his own recruiting firm, which thrived for over 30 years before being sold to Korn Ferry in the early 2000s. In retirement, he enjoyed boating and traveling with family and friends.
George is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy; their son, George IV (Kathy) of Lancaster, PA; daughter Emily Doskow (Mark) of Pacific Palisades, CA; three grandchildren; and a nephew. A service of remembrance will take place in the fall at St. Mark's Church in New Canaan, CT.
