Pringles Ruled Potato Snack, P&G Faces VAT Bill
Procter & Gamble (P&G) is facing a significant tax bill after the Court of Appeal ruled that its Pringles brand constitutes a potato snack, subject to Value Added Tax (VAT).
The ruling means P&G will have to pay VAT on sales of Pringles in the UK.
The decision is a blow to P&G, which had argued that Pringles are not a potato snack and therefore should be exempt from VAT.
