Proficio Capital Partners Acquires New Stake in IBM
Proficio Capital Partners LLC has acquired a new position in shares of International Business Machines Corporation (NYSE:IBM), as reported by its most recent Form 13F filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The institutional investor purchased 14,758 shares of IBM's stock, valued at approximately $4,150,000 during the second quarter.
This is not an isolated event, as other hedge funds and institutional investors have also recently added to or reduced their stakes in IBM. BlackRock Inc., for example, bought a new stake in shares of International Business Machines during the second quarter valued at approximately $21,586,659,000.
IBM has been making significant moves in the quantum computing space, including establishing a quantum innovation hub with Lockheed Martin at ETH Zurich through Switzerland's defense-offset program. The Swiss National Supercomputing Centre is expected to host IBM's first Quantum System Two, powered by its Nighthawk r2 processor and integrated with the Alps supercomputer.
