Project Helix Release Window Narrowed Down to 2028-2029
Xbox Project Helix has been narrowed down to a release window of 2028 or 2029, according to Microsoft's plans for its next-gen console.
In an interview with BBC News at Gamescom last week, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma revealed that Project Helix is being designed as a family of devices, rather than one singular console. This move towards a multi-device ecosystem has left room for speculation about what forms this could take, including multiple Xbox Helix consoles or even devices from different manufacturers like Asus or MSI.
Microsoft's partnership with AMD will play a key role in the development of these devices, and Sharma dodged questions about whether Project Helix will support discs. However, Microsoft has introduced its new 'disc to digital' option for Xbox One and Xbox Series X games to help users migrate their physical game libraries to digital.
