PwC Axes Iconic Intern Trip to Orlando
PwC Interns Say Goodbye to Disney World Trip
The Big Four accounting firm PwC has canceled its traditional end-of-summer trip to Orlando for interns who received full-time job offers. The event, known as Impact, was a multi-day celebration that included entertainment, keynote speeches, and career-development panels, as well as free food and accommodation at the Disney World Resort.
The decision to cancel the trip has been met with mixed reactions from PwC interns. Some are disappointed, saying that the team dinner planned instead is 'nothing compared' to the Impact event. However, others don't mind, citing previous experiences at Destination CPA, a three-day networking event in Orlando.
PwC's spokesperson stated that the firm is investing in strengthening learning and building connections within individual teams, rather than relying on large-scale events like Impact. The company is shifting its focus towards experiences that provide more time with colleagues, greater exposure to clients, and stronger opportunities for relationship-building.
