Qantas Flight Diverted After Engine Fire Over New Zealand

A Qantas flight from Queenstown to Sydney was forced to divert to Christchurch after an engine fire broke out shortly after take-off.

The Boeing 737-800, Flight QF122, had just left Queenstown on Saturday afternoon when flames were seen coming from one of its two engines.

Pilots quickly responded by diverting the plane to Christchurch where it landed safely.

No injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident.
