Qatar Airways Hits 150 Starlink-Equipped Aircraft, First to Fly 787-9s with SpaceX Internet
Qatar Airways has reached a major milestone in its Starlink-equipped aircraft program. The airline now operates 150 widebody planes equipped with SpaceX's satellite-based internet service, making it the first carrier globally to operate Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The carrier completed the rollout of Starlink across its Boeing 787-8 fleet in just seven months, exceeding expectations. With this achievement, Qatar Airways operates the world's largest fleets of Starlink-equipped Boeing 777, Airbus A350, and Boeing 787 aircraft.
Since introducing Starlink connectivity on long-haul flights in October 2024, over 23 million passengers have connected to the service across more than 86,000 Qatar Airways flights. The airline plans to equip its entire Boeing 787 fleet with Starlink by the end of 2026.
