Qatar Airways Hits 150-Starlink Milestone with 787-8 Fleet Installation Complete
Qatar Airways has completed the installation of Starlink on its Boeing 787-8 fleet, bringing the total number of Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft in its fleet to 150. This marks a significant milestone for the airline as it becomes the first carrier to operate Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with Starlink satellite internet.
The installation is part of Qatar Airways' plan to equip all Boeing 787 aircraft with Starlink, which aims to be completed by the end of 2026. With over 83% of its widebody Starlink installation programme now complete, the airline operates up to 323 Starlink-enabled flights per day.
Since introducing Starlink connectivity in October 2024, Qatar Airways has seen more than 23 million passengers use the service across over 86,000 flights. The system provides internet speeds of up to 500 Mbps and is available on many long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes across its global network.
