Qatar Airways Hits 150-Starlink Milestone with World's First Boeing 787-9
Qatar Airways has reached a significant milestone in its Starlink installation program. The airline now operates more than 150 widebody aircraft equipped with the satellite connectivity service, making it the first carrier to operate a Boeing 787-9 fitted with Starlink.
The Doha-based carrier has completed the rollout of Starlink across its Boeing 787-8 fleet, which was achieved in just seven months. The airline began offering Starlink connectivity in October 2024 and has since expanded it to its Boeing 777 and Airbus A350 fleets.
With over half of its Boeing 787 fleet equipped with Starlink, the airline expects to complete the installation program across all Boeing 787 aircraft by the end of 2026. By then, Qatar Airways plans to have around 175 aircraft equipped with the technology.
