Qatar Airways Leads in Digital Connectivity with Starlink-Equipped Fleet
Qatar Airways has made significant strides in digital connectivity and transformation by equipping its fleet with Starlink Wi-Fi, marking it as the world's first airline to do so. The ultra-fast Wi-Fi on the Boeing 787-9 aircraft offers passengers speeds of up to 500 Mbps, making long flights more comfortable for both leisure and work purposes.
The rollout is part of Qatar Airways' efforts to complete the Starlink Wi-Fi across its Boeing 787 fleet by the end of 2026. This achievement adds to the airline's cutting-edge completion of the Boeing 777 project in nine months and the Airbus A350 project in eight months.
Since the launch of Starlink Wi-Fi on Qatar Airways' long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes, over 23 million passengers have used it to connect to the fastest Wi-Fi in the sky across more than 86,000 flights. The connection is available for free onboard the aircraft.
