Qatar Airways Posts Record Profit, Places Historic Order with Boeing
Qatar Airways posted its highest annual profit in history at $1.94 billion for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The airline carried 41.8 million passengers and 1.43 million tons of cargo, accounting for a 12% share of the global air freight market through its Hamad International hub.
The carrier's Group CEO, Hamad Al-Khater, attributed the success to operational discipline and the hub's geography, which allows it to efficiently channel connecting traffic even in times of regional airspace disruption.
Qatar Airways placed a record-breaking order for 130 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 30 Boeing 777-9s, with options on 50 more, valued at approximately $96 billion. This is the largest widebody order in Boeing's 109-year history, surpassing its previous record.
