QC Ware Tackles Complex Chemistry with Hybrid Quantum-Classical Workflow
QC Ware has successfully demonstrated a hybrid quantum-classical chemistry workflow using its Promethium platform in conjunction with IBM Quantum's 156-qubit Heron superconducting quantum processor.
The demonstration used GPU-accelerated molecular modeling and classical chemistry methods combined with quantum measurements to calculate electrostatic interaction energy for the nitric oxide reductase enzyme system, a complex metalloenzyme system relevant to drug discovery, catalysis, and materials science.
Dr. Kin-Joe Sham, Co-Founder and COO at QC Ware, noted that this demonstration shows how classical and quantum computing can be combined to address meaningful computational chemistry problems.
Promethium's GPU-native architecture enables researchers to apply quantum chemistry across larger molecular systems and more compounds than has traditionally been practical, with selected workloads running up to 20 times faster than conventional platforms.
