Quantum Computing Sector Sees New Hires Amidst Growth and Expansion

Four quantum computing companies have made significant appointments in recent days, signaling growth and expansion in the sector.

Q.ANT has welcomed Joerg Behrend as its new Vice President of Hardware. With over two decades of experience at IBM, including a stint as Senior Manager for IBM Quantum at IBM R&D in Böblingen, Behrend will oversee hardware engineering and processor architecture at Q.ANT, leading the transition of its Thin-Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) photonic Native Processing Units (NPUs) into volume production.

Meanwhile, Gina Fratarcangeli has joined Qtonic Quantum as Senior Advisor for AI Transformation and Global Alliances. With three decades of executive leadership experience at Google, Accenture, IBM, and Genpact, Fratarcangeli will advise on commercial strategy, enterprise post-quantum adoption, and global alliance initiatives with systems integrators and cloud providers to support the company’s post-quantum risk remediation strategy.

QuantrolOx has appointed Srishti Mahhajan as its new Global Head of Strategy & Corporate Development. With international leadership experience across EMEA, APAC, and North America, Mahhajan will oversee global strategic growth, cross-border partnerships, and market expansion for the company’s automated quantum control software platform.

Finally, Leiden Cryogenics has appointed Eric Kievit as its new Chief Executive Officer. Founder Giorgio Frossati will transition to a senior scientist role to focus on cryogenic research, while Kievit will lead the company through its next growth phase, focusing on operational expansion, commercial partnerships, and scaling cryogenic infrastructure for the quantum computing ecosystem.
