Random Old Texts Sent via Google Messages as Bizarre Bug Spreads
Google Messages users have reported a bizarre bug that's sending old texts to random people. The issue appears to be pulling old messages from unrelated conversations and attaching or sending them with new messages.
The problem has been reported by multiple Pixel and Samsung phone owners, regardless of whether RCS messaging is enabled or disabled. Affected users have mentioned incidents where sensitive family matters, personal conversations, and even verification codes were sent to unintended recipients.
Google has acknowledged at least one report and asked the affected user for more information. The company submitted the issue to its engineering team for review, but no fix has been announced yet.
