Rare Boeing T50 Turbine Jet Engine Listed for Sale on eBay
The Boeing T50 turbine jet engine was developed in the late 1940s by Boeing's Seattle turbine operation. The Model 502, also known as the T50, was a small turboshaft that powered several historic firsts in aviation.
In its most common form, the 502-10VC or T50-BO-8A, the engine measured 40 inches long and 24 inches in diameter, weighed 334 lbs, and produced 300 shp with the power turbine at 28,380 rpm. It was used to power a variety of aircraft, including drones, helicopters, and light planes.
The T50-BO-12, a lighter redesign of the engine, was rated at 365 shp as the T50-BO-12 and was used in the QH-50D unmanned aircraft. Roughly 750 DASH airframes were built through 1969.
