RCS Revolutionizes Image Sharing Between Android and iPhone Devices

The issue of sharing high-quality images and videos between Android and iPhone devices has been a long-standing problem. For years, sending photos from an Android device to an iPhone would often result in reduced quality due to differences in messaging systems.

The introduction of RCS (Rich Communication Services) on iOS 18 has changed this. With RCS enabled, iPhone users can access higher image quality available via RCS, solving the discrepancy between Android and Apple phones.

To ensure image quality is preserved when sending photos from Android to iPhone, iPhone users should check if RCS is enabled in Settings > Apps > Messages. On Android devices, Google Messages will compress photos by default; pressing the HD or HD+ button before sending ensures the original file's quality is maintained.

For larger files and videos, compression can still occur due to RCS attachment size limits. In such cases, alternatives like email, alternative messaging services, or using apps like Google Photos for sharing images can be employed.
