Record Gas Turbine Orders Fuel Energy Sector Growth
Global gas turbine orders have reached an all-time high in the April-to-June quarter. Analysts at JPMorgan Chase & Co. reported a surge in demand, with nearly 38 gigawatts of orders placed during this period. This represents a 29% increase from the previous quarter and a 71% jump from the same time last year.
The US remained the dominant market for gas turbine orders, accounting for approximately half of all new orders. The growth in power demand drove the increased demand for gas turbines, according to JPMorgan's analysis. This trend suggests that energy companies are investing heavily in capacity expansion and upgrades to meet growing electricity needs.
