Rensselaer Community Mourns Loss of Michael W. Carney

Michael W. Carney, a 63-year-old resident of Rensselaer, New York, passed away on August 30, 2026. Born on October 4, 1962, Mike was the son of the late Ralph and Beverly Tompkins from East Greenbush.

For many years, Carney worked through the Albany Teamsters Union, and most recently, he held a position at The Home Depot in North Greenbush. He took pride in sharing his knowledge with customers, helping them find what they needed, and lending a hand whenever possible.

Carey was an avid New England Patriots fan who enjoyed following his team throughout the years. He also appreciated hunting and spending quality time with close friends over meals or just enjoying coffee together at Stewart's.
